Goblin Valley May 31, 2009

Broke camp. Got on the road and found out that Green River, Utah is not open Sunday morning.  We did slurp some internet from a motel and Gary downloaded his e-mail.  We have L-Lysine to help prevent fever blisters and compressed air to clean all the dust out of Gary’s computer on the shopping list right now.

Drove to Goblin Valley which has amazing rock formations shaped like spindles and mushrooms.  DSC_7888_Web

We set up camp.  There was a nice sunshade

If you have the movie “Galaxy Quest”, you can see Goblin Valley in the scenes where the crew is trying to get the ‘beryllium spheres’ and Tim Allen escaped the pig lizard and rock monster. GQ_Web

The valley pretty much speaks for itself.  We basically walked around it all day with a break for lunch and a shower.

No berillium spheres, but there were some geodes with calcite inside.
